Cynthia Le Sueur-Aquin

Ms. Le Sueur-Aquin has 40 years of mine management experience in the precious metal mining industry.  She has been involved in global exploration and production operations including the development and project management of many mines, sand and slimes recovery sites, and gold recovery plants throughout the world.  Her postings have provided her with direct exposure to cultural, political and regulatory issues in Indonesia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Canada, Mexico, Mozambique, Zambia, Botswana and other North African States.  She also has experience in project financing, mining property asset acquisitions and divestitures, corporate legal work and negotiations, company administration and investor relations.  Ms. Le Sueur-Aquin worked for Randgold and Exploration Corporation Limited, Rand Leases (V) Gold Mining Corporation Limited and Gold Fields Limited.  She was also Senior Vice-President, Exploration and Mining Projects for Antares Mining and Exploration Corp.

Mr. Bolton, is a CPA, CA practicing Chartered Accountant with over 40 years of public accounting experience and consulting services to the mining sector.  As a public accountant, Mr. Bolton provides audit services to a number of reporting issuers listed on the TSX Venture Exchange (the “TSXV”) primarily focused on the junior resource sector.

Dr. Neil D.S. Westoll

LAURION’s Board of Directors

Dr. Westoll brings 45+ years of diverse international experience in the resource exploration and business development, having work with some of the world’s largest mining companies, in key management roles such as Mining Practice Leader and later on as an independent consultant.  Dr. Westoll has initiated, developed, and negotiated agreements with landowners, governments worldwide.  Dr. Westoll is credited with successfully executed industry-supported development of a website-based compilation of environmental best practices in exploration (e3) for PDAC.  This undertaking included all aspects of environmental stewardship and community engagement from initial exploration through to closure and remediation. Dr. Westoll served on the Council of the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (APGO) as Treasurer and member.  Dr. Westoll is a previous Chairman of the Toronto Branch of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum, and is a member of the PDAC CSR, Awards and Nominations Committee.

David Burkes

Mr. Burkes is a CPA, CA, IFA, held the role of LAURION’s Chief Financial Officer between 2004 and 2012.  Mr. Burkes is a practicing Chartered Accountant and Investigative Forensic Accountant with over 40 years of public accounting experience.  Mr. Burkes has provided financial advisory services to various corporate Boards of Directors with respect to budgeting, financing and corporate governance.  Included amongst Mr. Burkes’ assignments, has been the investigation into the fraudulent practices of a gold mine’s purchasing agent and a review of the records of gold mines leading to significant changes in operating procedures and in corporate management.  Mr. Burkes has also provided forensic accounting services in the areas of shareholder disputes, qualification of damages due to product liability, breach of contract and personal injury.

Mr. Jensen is a Senior Level Geologist / Hydrogeologist / Project Manager with more than 35+ years of both private and government experience, encompassing technical, and senior management level environmental, hydrogeologic and geologic consulting. Mr. Jensen’s expertise in environmental and hydrogeologic investigation, multimedia sampling, groundwater monitoring, groundwater modeling and contaminant transport, soil and groundwater remediation, feasibility studies, corrective action plans and geologic resource (mineral and oil/gas) development, for the manufacturing, power, pipeline, petrochemical, oil/gas and mining industries, landfills, and USEPA and DOD (USMC).

Joseph Campbell

Mr. Campbell is a professional geologist with 30+ years of experience in exploration and mining, his roles have included Exploration Manager, Mine Manager, Chief Mine Geologist of various gold and base metal mines, and Project Manager for advanced mine development projects, both open pit and underground.  Mr. Campbell has worked in various commodities, including gold, nickel, copper, lead, zinc, uranium and industrial minerals, and his career has taken him throughout North and Central America, South America, Africa, Australia, and Asia.  Mr. Campbell co-founded GeoVector Management Inc., an Ottawa geo-scientific consulting firm.  Highlights sample of Mr. Campbell’s career include the definition of a 250 million tonne Nickel laterite deposit in Cuba (Pinares) while Chief Geologist, and the discovery of the Meliadine gold project in Nunavut while Project Manager for a seven year period from discovery through to pre-feasibility.

Terrence Byberg

LAURION’s Technical Advisory Board Member

Mr. Byberg has 45+ years of international mining experience in Canada, USA, Mexico, Greece, Australia and the Philippines, with extensive public company experience in the areas of management, production and operations.  Mr. Byberg is a Graduate of the Haileybury School of Mines.  Mr. Byberg began his career with the Dome Group in Red Lake where he served as a Surveyor and Ventilation Engineer, Miner, Shift Boss, Training and Safety Superintendent, Assistant Mine Superintendent and Mine Superintendent.  Within the Dome Group he also served as Production Superintendent to Detour Lake Mine in Timmins Ontario.  Mr. Byberg is the founder and Vice President of Mining for Chieftain Metals, Inc. where he helped facilitate the negotiation and acquisition of the Tulsequa Chief Mine.  Mr. Byberg also is the Founder, President and CEO of Silver Eagle Mines, Inc. where he optioned a past-producing mine property in Mexico and raised in excess of $50M.  Mr. Byberg served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Philippine Gold where he controlled the various stages of exploration, feasibility and permitting for eight separate properties throughout the Philippines.  Mr. Byberg served as General Manager for Exall Resources where he commenced operations from ground zero and of Orex Exploration Inc. achieved a production rate of 600 tonnes per day, of gold ore, within one year; ahead of schedule and under budget.  Mr. Byberg served as General Manager for TVX in Northern Quebec and Greece and for Royal Oak in Yellowknife, NWT.  Since 2012, and at various points in his career, Mr. Byberg has served as an Independent Mining Consultant providing management and mining services to firms worldwide.

Jean Lafleur

Mr. Lafleur is a Professional Geologist. Mr. Lafleur graduated with a B. Sc. and M. Sc. in Geology from the University of Ottawa having accumulated 30+ years of experience in various capacities, both in Canada and internationally having served as Vice President of Exploration of Guinea Iron Ore Limited, McWatters Mining Inc., Beartooth Platinum Corp., Aurvista Gold Corporation (alternatively Maple Gold Mines Ltd.), Crowflight Minerals Inc., and Pershimco Resources Inc.  Mr. Lafleur served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Aurvista Gold Corporation, Fancamp Exploration Limited, Canickel Mining, and of Lamêlée Iron Ore Ltd.  Mr. Lafleur served as the Technical Advisor of Corporate Development of Niogold Mining Corp., Iconic Minerals Ltd. (Bonaventure Enterprises Inc.), Orex Exploration Inc., and Pershimco Resources Inc.  Mr. Lafleur is a Qualified Person on several uranium plays, including the North Shore Property for Uracan Resources, and the Uskawanis Property for Uranium Bay Resources.  Mr. Lafleur served as consultant, leading teams in the search for gold, base metals, nickel and uranium to a number of junior exploration companies, including Eloro Resources Ltd., Crowflight Minerals Inc., Beartooth Platinum Corporation, Northfield Metals Inc., Typhoon Exploration Inc., NioGold Mining Corp., UFM Ventures, International Kirkland Minerals Inc., Forbes Manhattan, American Bonanza Gold Corp. and Orex Exploration Inc.  Mr. Lafleur served as the Chairman of Fancamp Exploration Ltd and Niogold Mining Corp., Orex Exploration Inc.  Mr. Lafleur has held numerous Board seats the likes of Fancamp Exploration Ltd., Champion Natural Health.Com.
